Rendering to SWF????

Probably your best bet would be to render to PNG if you want to keep the alpha channel for compositing purposes.

I don’t really use Flash too much… Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I would say PNG as well, but I haven’t used Flash in a long time. Whenever I work on any website intros, the Flash guys I work for insist on Quicktime, which apparently Flash likes much better than other video formats.

I use flix pro by wildform to convert to flash.
It does a very good job.

So you converted AVI to Quicktime then. Since all I saw Particle Illusion render is AVI’s

I usually export a sequence of PNG images, that way I don’t have to worry about any extra compression, and then render that to Quicktime.
