    Hi all,

I’m a bit frustrated with this.

I’m required to export my video to a high res, uncompressed, PAL-DV MOV file. But when I try, the quality looks terrible. It looks like the quality of a YouTube video.

Specifically, I’m rendering Quicktime 7 MOV. I click custom, video, and change the video format to DV – PAL. Then I slide the quality to 100%. And yet comes out terrible. The DVCPRO options are no better.

Could I be missing a codec or something?

Some background info… I’m using Vegas 8 on XP. My source video is mjpeg. I have the Quicktime 7.3.1 player installed.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you,
    Randy

Ok I think I figured it out.

Quicktime doesn’t play the DV codec MOV files in high quality by default. So the file is fine, but the Quicktime player was only giving me preview quality.

To turn on the high quality in Quicktime Pro, I had to open Window, Show Movie Properties, Video Track, Visual Settings, then check High Quality.
