I have a short 4K UHD test film (18 minutes, video, titles one sound track) and have rendered successfully to Internet 4k but renders to compatible ProRes formats are unplayable using VLC latest version. The renders seem to never close down properly although a file appears in the Image File. Help! (Vegas Pro 14 latest build,. Asus; i7 -4770; 16GB RAM; Nvidia GT640)

    Thanks

No idea what level your Source recordings are.

I would try to rendering to cineform or avc-intra. Then render that file using ffmpeg to prores. See if that makes a difference.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    1. I am not sure that I understand what you mean by “the level of the source recording”. Please advise.

    2. I tried the avc-intra route and this also produced an unplayable file. I assume there is experience of rendering to ProRes UHD formats and perhaps the problem lies with my source material. This was acquired with a JVC GY HM170 at the higher record rate of 150 mpbs and is a .mov file.

    Thanks
