i just upgraded to after effects 6.5 and the settings are slightly different when rendering for fcp 5 dvcam. i use lower setting, 29.97, dv-ntsc and there is a box that says interlace. i do it but my motion is not right when i import into fcp and play back on an ntsc sd monitor. does anyone know the settings i should use?

    thanks,
    nic

If your interlacing, make sure that you know if you are using Upper FIeld First or Lower field first -you need to decide which in the same dialog. When you bring that rendered footage into FCP, make usre it’s reading it the same way. So if you choose LFF, make sure FCP is reading it as LFF.

You’re entering the options window for the Quicktime DV codec. You know what? After Effects ingnores the settings in that window (because they could be contradictory with settings in the Output module). So, you just set your Quicktime options from the Output Module window, if necesary. You could just pick the Quicktime DV NTSC 48 Khz template and you’re done.
