April 10, 2013 at 3:31 amXvid and DivX are display formats and not supported by Vegas. If you are stuck with Xvid or Divx footage to edit, the solution is to not use Xvid or DivX. Convert the files with something like AviDemux to a format like Motion-JPEG video with PCM audio and the files should edit fine.

April 10, 2013 at 11:53 amI don’t need to edit the video in vegas 12.
I need to deliver the video with XVID Compression, using Vegas 12.
They will use the videos to display advertising in areas of a screen. (In a sport stadium digital signage system.)

April 10, 2013 at 1:47 pmWell if thats the case, you can download the XVID codec and render
as normal, selecting it in the Customized option in the render que.Steve Rhoden

April 10, 2013 at 2:01 pmThanks. I did it. Downloaded the XVID codec and rendered OK.
Now I have a second request:
HuffYUV AVI Compression with Alpha Channel
I downloaded HuffYUV codec, but it doesn’t shows up under windows video.
Any ideas?

April 10, 2013 at 2:34 pmThanks Steve for your time.
I wasn’t able to find HuffYUV in vegas.
I downloaded Virtualdub and was able to render Uncompressed AVI from vegas into AVI-HuffYUV.

April 10, 2013 at 9:41 pmI would have thought the option to choose it, should be available if
you choose the Video for Windows format.Steve Rhoden

April 10, 2013 at 10:00 pmDefinitely HuffYUV doesn’t shows up in vegas-12 (64bits).
I tried Vegas-10 (32bits) and I was able to render HuffYUV AVI with less size and more quality than the one rendered in Virtualdub.
