    Hi,

I’m using final cut HD 5.1.2 to edit a film shot on the Panasonic P2 cards. I’m currently editing on the MacBook Pro with the 2GHZ processor. I’ve imported them properly; they’re formatted as:

    vidrate: 29.97
    frame size: 960×720
    pixel aspect: HD 960×720

The tabs in the timeline are set to the same settings.

The problem i’m having is that every time I put them into my time line, I have to render them before I can run them & have to do the same thing if I trim the clips. Also the playback is very choppy & looks pixelated.

Is there any way to avoid having to render my clips over and over again? Have I set something wrong or done something?

    Any and All help appreciated.
    THanks.

Choose the DVCPRO HD 720p30 Easy Setup, then create a new sequence. Try your footage in that sequence.

It still makes me render when i place it in the timeline & everytime I extend a previous cut point. I’ve never had this problem working in DV; but this is my first time w/ the P2 cards.

Sorry, I chose the wrong format & then posted. Chose the proper one you stated & it worked perfectly.

    Thank you for the help!
