I,ve got some mp4 files for editing.1. I changed the extension to mov. and star to work. When putt on time line i need to render it. 2. I used the compressor to change it in to prores 422 but still rendering.
    3. If i use directly the file mp4 on a time line it is rendering.
What do i have to do in settings that it does not render all the time i do move my clip?
when i use tape to capture or loggin no problem.
GOT MP4 file and when editing it renders all the time.

    thx vasja

Your sequence settings have to match your video settings for it not to render.

The easiest way to do this (and if you are using the latest version of FCP) Make a new sequence and open it. Drag your Pro Res footage into the timeline, it will ask you if you want to change your sequence settings to match your footage. Say YES.

If this doesn’t work, let us know.

O.k i did that…The video did not have too be rendered but the sound i had to render…
    My proces:
mp4 file in the compressor converted in to apple prores 422.
    Proces:
i apply the settings and drag it to the source video. It was made in 10 – 20 sec. for 4 min. material.
The file was imported to the final cut pro as a new project.
When i putt it on the time line i was asked to match the settings of the sequence i confirmed yes.
VIdeo was o.k avdio had to be rendered.
Is there a mistake in converting the file in compressor?
    my system settings a/v:
sequence present: apple prores 422 pal 48 khz
