I have a very strange problem:

I have type on a background, it has a range reveal: the text types on, and then grows, using a scale keyframe — very simple, however, when I render the clip to quicktime, AppleProRes HQ, lower field — the text doesn’t read on, and it disappears randomly and then re-appears randomly. I don’t have any opacity, or expressions, or any of that jaz going on….

Using version CS4 on a Mac.

    Any thoughts? Help.

very strange in deed… if everything looks right when you ram preview, then it should look the same rendered…

    things you might try:

    1. do a edit>purge>all prior to rendering
    2. reboot your mac
    3. render to something more generic, like qt lossless animation

if the later helps, you might need to see if you can download a newer prores codec. it may be that it’s not working correctly with your qt version or something…

since it is an apple codec that is part of the fcp pkg, i would guess that it would be part of pro apps update from apple. try apple>software update to see if it find any pro app updates.

I discovered that I had a Sapphire Plugin on the type (spotlight), once I deleted that plugin and replaced it with ccspotlight (not as good) the read on effect rendered properly.

I guess I have to scour genarts website to see if there is a fix/update (just updated those really expensive plugins)….

    thanks for the response.

I had a similar problem, when I render with “lower field first” the text desappears, but when I do with Field Render Off it renders normaly.
