    OR…!!!

You can just download the SC-MX10 Codec for MX10 (ver.0.0) from the Samsung web site and install it!

I’m sure this is on a CD in your possession somewhere (perhaps the camera box?)

Hence my original suggestion to contact Samsung about how to edit this format.

Would have been a short thread but we both learned a lot.

Okay let’s see if this will work.

I unzipped the FourCC Changer except the only thing started with div in both drop down menu’s are div4 for the Description code and div3 for the Used codec.

    Is this correct?

I also un-installed DivX 6 (hopefully I was supposed to?)

Do I repeat this process with all of my clips and then open Vegas to see if the files reappear?

You know I did get two discs with my camera, but I figured that sony veges would be the only thing that I needed. I should have installed the discs, but I will follow that link.

Yeah–that is true. Well I thank you for your time and your patience. I know I learned more than you probably did since I am fairly new to all of this (Only been making videos for 2 years–not very long).

Now let me download this and see what happens.

Installed it–but the media is still offline. There’s two things to install though. One let me and the other didn’t for some reason. Should I just load the discs that came with my camera?

Yea forget about the drop down. Just physically type the letters DIVX over the letters SEDG.

    > I also un-installed DivX 6 (hopefully I was supposed to?)

No. Please re-install it. The whole purpose of this exercise is to see if DivX 6 solves your rendering problem.

    > Do I repeat this process with all of my clips and then open Vegas to see if the files reappear?

Yes but I would get one to work first so that you know you are doing it correctly. Process one file then open Vegas and drop the file on the timeline and see if it plays back correctly.

The media may still be off-line because you might still need DivX (and you said that you now uninstalled it).

    > Should I just load the discs that came with my camera?

Yes, I would install ALL of the software that came with your camera because it is obviously using proprietary formats that no other software can natively handle.

Okay I just reinstalled DivX. Sorry about that.

Alright good news, I rendered a clip changing the codec to divx with with the FourCC and it does not jerk around.

My clips are back!!!! *Jumps up and down!* You do realize I will be thanking you for the rest of my life, don’t you?

Goodness, now before I freak out anymore let me render the video and get back to you to see how it all plays.

Will do in a minute. Let me just try to render the video. I’m so happy. I was worried that the video might have to be scrapped and I am the type of person who needs to make the video in one day even if it takes me ten to twelve hours because I change my mind so often. I am like that with whatever I create whether it be videos or artwork–I just have to finish it in the moment/mood I am in.

Fantastic! It’s too bad Samsung chose to make it so difficult to work with their camera. This is where standards become really important. Why on earth would they use DivX and not set the fourcc correctly? It should not have been this hard for you.

Good luck. I hope the render shows smooth video.

I was wondering the same thing because the camera came with a sticker on it that said it was a perfect camera for uploading videos directly to youtube. Of course I do editing to all of my videos before I put them on youtube, but I figured with a sticker like that they would make it easier.

It’s at 87% rendering. I hope it all works, too. *crosses fingers–on one hand*
