Rendering in PAL
Posted by Allen King on March 24, 2010 at 12:56 pmI’m rendering a wedding in PAL so a couple can send it to family in Italy, how will I know if it worked?

March 24, 2010 at 1:00 pmA lot of DVD players are switchable. Also, if you are using a vegas pal template (with out changing it) it should be fine.

March 27, 2010 at 2:28 amJust shoot as normal if you are in NTSC land.
Do the conversion in post.Edit and cut to your hearts delight and save as a .avi file, in NTSC format. Then re-import the file onto the timeline, changing Vegas’ preferences to PAL (either 16;9 or 4×3 depending on what you shot).
When you do this change the custom control to 8Mbps variable bit rate, two pass.
Then change DVDA presets to that of Vegas (eg PAL Widescreen) and toast to disc from there.
As a general rule of thumb, if you DONT hear from the client, everything went OK.
