Rendering in HD & upgrading…
Hey all, amateur editor here. I currently use a Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder USB 2.0 and Vegas Pro 9 to do my videos. I want to make the transition to HD vids. I now they’re very memory intensive. I’m thinking about getting an internal capture card for my PC for when I do captures on my xbox 360 because I want to capture at 720p or higher. Also planning on getting a powered HDMI splitter.
Anything I should look for in terms of hard drives, capture cards, or HDMI splitters?

I’ve been using a Hauppauge HD-PVR to capture HD TV and it works really well. You could connect it between your XBOX 360 and your HD TV via the component video out and it will record full 1080 resolution. Be sure to record in AVCHD mode. That edits best in Vegas. It connects to your PC via USB 2.0 so no internal card required.
