Some strange things happening in FCS 2
I’ve been getting extremely long rendering times ie. 4 hours for a :30 commercial 48 hours for 30 min infomercial. any Ideas – I’ve tried different codecs – DV / 10 bit uncompressed and ProRes 422 and they all seem to render out the same. I’ve reinstalled the Black Magic drivers for universal. This is killing me timewise
Also since I have shake installed I’m told by apple that qmaster is the culprit on why I can’t render anything in compressor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m also experiencing very long render times. I have a 30 second credit sequence thats made in Motion with static pages of white text on black, no movement at all and it takes 8 minutes to render in 10bit uncomressed.

I don’t know the answer to this – haven’t picked up Studio 2 yet…but I’ve seen some other posts on here about long render times. Have you guys searched in the archives?

    Jon –

This is a definite problem with FCS2. Here’s an earlier thread on this topic.

The workaround seems to be to change rendering from “best” to “normal” in preferences. You will see artifacts this way, it’s only good for rough cuts, you’ll have to re-render at “best” for output.

The only thing to do is give feedback to apple and pray for a fix.
