Hey, Im new to AE, as you may see… and I can’t figure out the right way to render. I heard exporting is bad, but I still tried that anyways and yeah… the quality was horrible. Then, I did the render que thing and used loseless and best, and the quality was perfect. However, the file size was 900 MB for a 30 second clip. I need to be able to keep my clips as a manageable size with still decent quality (for web uploads).
    What settings should I use?
Thanks in advacne, and sorry if this question has been asked before

    Hi,
check out the podcast tutorials of Aharon Rabinowitz. His tutorial “Final Delivery” explains very well what to do and what to avoid when rendering.
His podcasts are excellent and a great source of information for beginners AND advanced AE users.

Isn’t it amazing how quickly you can end up with HUGE files with AE?

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is very complex (the above mentioned podcast will outline why it is complex) – some of the words you need to start to search for and learn about are “compression” and “codec” – but be prepared, it is a tricky world, with endless variables to take in to account (there is no easy answer).
