Rendering HD videos in SV pro 9
I tried rendering a project and I didn’t really know what to choose from all those options (it’s the first time I’m using Sony Vegas), but I just wanted to get an HD video so I chose 1280×720 in… I can’t remember what template, but anyway, it took about an hour to render and when it was done it had 13 freaking GB o_O I was like wtf?!? So I tried other templates in 720×480 and it worked better, it was done in 10 min and it only had about 300 mb. But I think that’s a lot, too… So is there any other rendering options that won’t take up this much space?
All the other videos I had made with movie maker and other softwares had under 100 mb and they were the same length or even bigger. Is this just how Sony Vegas works or am I just not doing it properly? -

I assume you are wanting to load your video on the web in high definition? If so, use the Sony AVC (or Mainconcept AVCE)template and change the settings according to what you want. The higher the bitrate the bigger the file size. The lower the bitrate the less quality you will have. It is a trade off.
If you would rather, try using a WMV (Windows Media Video) template and under options change it 3mbps and make sure the dimensions are correct (Usually keeping the dimensions the same as your source is a good idea as it does not have to resize each frame= quicker renders).
