rendering hd project…help!
I have an 1 1/2 HD video with transitions and effects, I rendered, exported, and compressed it and put it into dvdsp to notice it is still 5.7g-I guess because it is HD. So, I split it in half and put part 2 in a new sequence and rendered it, exported it to see it is now 36g-for a 45 minute video. I can clearly see that the part 2 has been fully rendered with ‘blue’ and part 1 is ‘gray.’ Which is right and how can I correct this? Both videos look good. I know I’m inexperienced with HD, but how can a 45 minute video be so many gigs? I have a MacPro 2.8 Ghz and FCP6….

What format of HD? And I think you are misunderstanding how to author a DVD. Just because your final exported size is larger than the 4.7GB a DVD holds, doesn’t mean that it won’t fit. You don’t drag the file onto the DVD and then it works in DVD players. That is how you burn DATA. No, using Compressor and DVD Studio Pro, or just DVD Studio pro (it does a simple compression, not fantastic looking) is how you author DVDs. They need to be compressed into the DVD format….MPEG 2.
