Rendering HD for uncompressed archiving
To my understanding, archiving Standard Definition would be done in the AVI format. What would be the format for High Definition if the original was 1920 x 1080 x24 at 29.97fps?
The reason for this question is because the original HD video has been edited and now the edited version needs to be archived.

If you still have the original footage, that’s the best quality you can archive. Also save a copy of the rendered video as well.

I agree with Danny, but AVI’s can be both SD and HD formats….just FYI…

Archiving to uncompressed HD would be overkill. I would either archive to the original source format or use CineForm AVI. You’ll have to purchase CineForm NeoScene separately if you want to use that format, but it’s an excellent 422 digital intermediary to use for archiving.
