I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to render a 5 minute, 10 gig video for youTube so its only 100mb! Youtube recommends mpeg4 but AE doesn’t have that option. Thanks, Rusty

Yes it does by means of Quicktime or the dedicated exporter. Anyway, for YouTube it probably doesn’t matter – it’s going to get munched up, so you probably could use Cinepak and it wouldn’t make any difference. *lol*

The BEST way to do it is to render to a .flv at 425×350 resolution. Youtube will not even further compress your video, and I am 95% positive that the video will be under 50 MB. Try a 64 MB MP3 audio compression with a video bitrate of 700 bps. This works pretty well…

If you can manage to make youtube’s infamous automated ‘mangle encoder” to use your already carefully compressed without altering it that would solve 90% of the internet’s problems. I’ve seen beautifully pre-compressed stuff end up bloated and recompressed with blocky noise and drop-outs by youtube’s recompression.

How ironic that they convert to flash video but don’t allow you too upload it as flash.

Trust me it works… I have done it, and the quality was higher than 99% of all other stuff on youtube.
I used Sorenson Squeeze to compress my .flv.

    Thanks,

How do I upload it? I have tried twice now and it doesn’t take flvs.
