My first time creating a short piece for a website. I notice my Vegas 7 has templates for WMV & quicktime. Are there other file types/choices I can access without too much trouble, like a plugin(?)for Flashplayer or something else?
    Thanks.

There are indeed plenty of them and Flash is a great tool, but by itself, a Flash file is not playable. To be a playable video file, the video must be imported into Adobe for creation of the other supporting files necessary enable a playable Flash video. There are other programs that will produce Flash files like Camtasia if you begin with raw AVI footage.

For compressing raw content, there is Sorensen Squeeze, a great compressing tool but Vegas can get you good results if you begin by preparing the Vegas effort to match the format for which you are publishing the video.

The easiest way to get Flash output is to render your video in Vegas as a full DV quality avi file. Then open Flash 8 and import the video. Choose progressive download. Flash will convert to a .flv file played by the flash player. If your video is relatively short, this should work fine.

    Hope this helps,
