  • Rendering Canon 720/60 footage (with Epic plugin)

Posted by Ted (tr) wilkinson on November 26, 2010 at 1:01 pm

So I’ve been using the Epic plugin with good results on 1080/24 footage.

I wanted to shoot 720/60 for a project to give it a video look, and I’ve had some issues. The first time the proxies were created they were doubled and wrong, so I downgraded to middle quality in epic, then it worked fine.

I’ve done my edit, and now when I go to render it’s telling me incredible times and epic keeps crashing. I’ve never put out 60/59 stuff, so has anyone been down this path or something similar and can give me some things to beware or settings to try?

I’ve been doing the mp4 with 59.94 fp setting and ive never let a render go yet, since it’s telling me an hour for a 30 second clip!

There must be something I’m missing here…

yet another Vegas/Epic restart seems to have helped the issue. I have a render going now at a reasonable speed so we’ll see…

I render 1080 60p mp4, wmv all the time with Vegas 9 and 10 and set the bitrate to 25m. What is the original format? mine is .mts or .m2ts. I’ll post some project setting and render setting pics when I get to work. Danny Hays
