Rendering Cameras
Posted by Harry Robins on May 19, 2014 at 4:02 pmHi, I have made a project with Element 3D and the 3D camera tracker. I have created the camera, and have just finished the effect. However when I go to render it renders the object in the middle of the screen not moving. I have discovered that it has something to do with the Active Camera. When I click to view the 3D Camera Tracker, the object follows sits on the table and follows it. When I select Active Camera it goes into the middle of the screen and stays still. The 3D Camera Tracker is the top layer, and there is no other cameras. Please help. 🙂

Does your 3D Camera Tracker layer extend through the whole shot? Can you post a screenshot?

May 19, 2014 at 5:48 pmI rendered the first second or so, it seems like it follows the camera, then springs back. https://reels.creativecow.net/film/render

May 20, 2014 at 1:16 amDoes the springing back coincide with any of the layers ending or splitting?

May 20, 2014 at 6:32 amNo, it’s like one second in. 20 something frames. When I change the view to 3D Camera Tracker, it shows what I want to render, but whenever I click Active Camera it goes back to the middle.

May 20, 2014 at 12:38 pmThat is very strange. I don’t see any reason in your screenshot as to why the camera tracker camera wouldn’t be the active camera.
Does clearing your cache help?
What about making a new comp and pasting these layers into it?

May 20, 2014 at 5:24 pmNo jumping here. Since I didn’t have your assets, I just threw a cube in the Element effect, and it played through smoothly.
I suggest you clear your cache. Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache.

May 20, 2014 at 5:38 pmI think I’ve fixed it. I had to start all over again though. 🙁 But at least I got the effect I was looking for. Thanks for helping.
