  • Rendering 10GB of AVCHD onto 1 DVD?

    Hi Guys,

    I hope you can help.
I would like to burn about 10GB of AVCHD footage from my Canon HF100 onto 1 DVD.
Please can someone advise what format to render it in, so that it wont take too long and will be less than 4.7GB.

    My original stats are:
    1440×1080
    25fps
    8bit
    1.3333

I am torn between Sony AVC or MPEG2 or something else?
I have tried using ‘Xilisoft DVD Creator 6’ to just burn the files onto DVD, but it failed.
I don’t really have to edit them, just burn them.
Shall I buy DVD Architect Pro 5, would that help/burn AVCHD direct?

    Thanks in advance.

    Will

10GB doesn’t tell us how long the files are in length.

You can burn about 1 hr 17 minutes of 8Mbps AVCHD onto a single DVD. If the video isn’t that long, 15MBps will get you about 40 minutes of video per DVD (which is probably what the Canon HF100 shoots). If you use a dual-layer DVD you can get 1 hr 10 minutes of 15Mbps AVCHD on it.
