Rendering 1 hour and 20 min video..time?

Thanks! Would you recommend choosing a constant rate of 6,000,000, or using a smaller max. I don’t know much about this but am trying to learn. Also, my file rendered to 3.2 GB in 4 hours.

You want to make it as large as you can while still fitting all your assets (video, audio, menu elements) on the disc without encoding at a higher rate than DVD players can handle (about 8.2Mbps).

3.2GBs is fine. A bit larger would have probably been fine too.

You are awesome! I’ll ask one final question….I just imported my MPEG file into DVD architect and it doesn’t recognize the chapter markers. It shows just one chapter. I was hoping for a scene selection menu. I did render with the markers to be included in the MPEG file, does the MPEG-2 format recognize the markers or should I render to another format?

A couple of points: Look at Vol 1 #7 of my newsletters and you can learn more about maximizing the size of the MPEG2 file based on the length of your video.

If you have markers on the timeline, and you render with the “Include Markers” option checked, the markers should be automatically imported as chapter points. There ARE some things that can cause this to not work, though. For example, did you move the MPEG2 file? The marker information is stored in a separate file.
