Render to iPad and Android tablets
Hi guys,
Firstly apologies if this isn’t exactly the correct forum but i know you guys know your stuff!
Im making animations for a monthly magazine available on iPad and Android tablets. Here’s my current workflow:
I create in AE, render out Lossless, encode in Handbrake to the settings below:Frame size: 768 x 1004
Codec: MPEG-4 (FFmpeg)
25 fps
Bit rate: 6500 kbps
2-pass average bitrate
file extension: .mp4Audio:
Codec: AAC (CoreAudio)
Stereo
Bitrate: 160 kbpsThese work well on both iPads and Androids tabs we have here, but we’ve been getting feedback about them not playing so well in the field (pretty lame actually).
I have read heaps of tech specs from Apple and android websites, but there’s no real clear answer to be had.
What I was hoping for here is that someone reading this compresses videos for both iPad and Android tablets and would like to share their workflow.
Thanks in advance guys!
Andrew.ps, i know that a bitrate of 6.5 Mbps might sound high, but it’s worked well here.
Mac OSX, AE CS5, Handbrake Version 0.9.5, etc…
