    I am perplexed!
6 sec comp with 4 layers rotating in space with knoll light flare.

Mac G5 dual core 2.3, 2.5 GB ram- render time 3:39
PC Xeon dual 2.66, 2 GB ram- render time 2:10!

Overall my 2 year old PeeCee seems snappier and has a better overall responsiveness. It also seems like Premiere Pro on the PeeCee is more resposive than FCP5 as well. What is going on! I just spent a whole bucket of money based on Apples claims of superior performance. I should probably do some more tests. On a positive note, Renderfarm Commander on the Mac with Lightwave 8.5 is fantastic. I have it hooked up to my Dual 500 G4 and well, it just works nice.

Don’t believe a word that Apple tells you, I’ve found the same thing, remember they used to talk about the “MegaHertz Myth” I can tell you that at that time they were way behind PC’s for after effects rendering. Notice how great the intel chips are now that they’re using them?
