Render Queue?
Hi,
I’m edting footage down into a series of clips of 30 seconds each. I’m eventually going to end up with about sixty. Is there any way of rendering them out one after the other without me manually having to sit there and export the timeline one at a time to end up with sixty separate clips? If not is there any kind of work around?

Nope. There’s no batch processing in Premiere Pro. AE can do this for you. If you prefer the editing tools in Premiere, you could start there, then import the Premiere project into AE and send them all to the render queue.

If all your segments for export are the same length, it’s not too hard to set up the work area bar to cover the first such set of clips, export with ‘work area’ selected, move the work bar along to the next, export again etc. Probably no more work overall than setting up a batch list for the same operation.

Thanks. Does AE import each sequence as a separate compostion? Can i do a global export format that will apply to all clips?

Hi David,
That’s what i thought about doing initially but each render takes three or four minutes on my machine so i’d have to baby-sit the renders for about three hours so i’d rather spend time setting up a queue then just letting it get on with it.

Yes, each sequence will be it’s own comp. And you can create your own output module for the render queue and set it as the default. Then all you have to do is shift+select all of the comps, drag them into the render queue, and hit Render. Poof, you’re done.

Keep in mind not all PPro effects and plugins are supported in AE. If you’re using all standard transitions, dissolves, etc you should be okay.
