Is there a way to render out a vignette with an alpha channel to lay over a Premiere timeline?

I’m doing a series of videos with an “old film look” and the effects increase export time a great deal. I’d like to export whatever effects I can with an alpha channel and just overlay them in the timeline. This hasn’t been an issue with scratches and other “damage” elements, but I can’t get the vignette.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Matt

How have you made your vignette?

You could just make a black solid, use a feathered mask to knock out the middle, then render to a single PNG and bring that into Pr.

    Thanks Walter.

When I read this I immediately thought “of course”. I’m using Magic Bullet to get the old film look, and was using its vignette effect. Doing it as you described will definitely work though, and that solution should have occurred to me.

    Thanks!
