  • Render order for PS 3D layer in AECS4

    Hi all,

I’m trying to get some 2D objects to orbit around a live 3D layer, so they come from behind, to infront then back behind the object.

However, if i put the 2D objects above in the layer order they always appear in front, even when actually behind. If i put them underneath, they always appear behind it, even if they are actually in front.

Does anyone have any tips, or is it another limitation of Live 3D?

    All the best,

    Jules

I solved this one. I created a copy of the layer, and placed it under the 3D layer, then switched their visibilty on the frame when the layer travelled behind.

Thanks for reporting back and apologies for not jumping in sooner.
Did you try the Split Layer feature? It’s under the Edit Menu. My thoughts are that that would have been a more efficient solution.

    Hi Roland,

No i didn’t get a chance, as it’s rendered and away now! But in future i think this would be better than duplicating as i could key all the movement first and then split at the right point.

    Many thanks for the tip!
