When i select “make movie”, I’m not getting the render cue anymore. Yes, it’s puzzling. I don’t think I’ve encountered anything quite like this before.

I just precomped my entire composition so I could add a zoom in to the whole thing. And now when i go to make movie, it gives me an option to make an AVI, that’s all. What happened to the render cue and all it’s file type and compression options?? I want to make an MOV.

    thx

Don’t use the Make Movie command. It’s an old vestige. The superior command is Composition > Add To Render Queue. (See this FAQ entry.)

Do you have the Render Queue selected to be shown in your current workspace? Go to the Window menu and make sure that Render Queue is selected. Or just reset your workspace to it’s default.
