    Hey everyone,
I’m in a real jam here.

I’m working on a project using an AE project file that originally used Trapcode Form and Shine. I don’t have either, so I contacted the creator of the project to see if I had any other options.
He sent me a .mov file to replace what was being generated by Form. I replaced the footage and it looks wonderful!

    One small problem:
When I render (or even pre-render) the background layer (a simple two layer pre-rendered comp with gradient) and the .mov disappear.
They are present when I export the comp as a quicktime, they never appear when I render. I’ve tried rendering as a .avi, mpeg2, mpeg2-dvd,… the works.

I’m running cs4 64 bit on Windows 7, iCore 7, 12 gigs of ram, 2 tb hd. My machine is decent and I’ve never had any problems like this.

Is it because I’m missing Form or Shine?

    Please help. Thanks,
    -Than

Are you using any proxies in your comps, like the Form and Shine layers for example? If so, they will disappear when you render unless you change the Render Settings in the Render Queue to “Use All Proxies”.

    Thanks Dave,
I didn’t get a chance to check the codec. Thanks a lot for your speedy answer though. I was in the midst of trying to turn off Form and Shine when I saw Erik’s post. Creative Cow saves the day once again. Thank you all.
