Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy render limit?

Whenever I’m rendering new items in a timeline previously rendered items become unrendered occasionally.

Is there a way of controlling the amount of allowed rendered video in a timeline to fix this? I assume it’s just some kind of preference but I couldn’t find any setting for that. Thanks again!

    Hi Michael,
There is no limit for rendering a sequence.
That buggy behave was very typical in some FC.5 and FC.6 versions but seems to be fixed in FC.7.

Hmm. I’m working in 7 & it happens constantly unfortunately. Maybe I’ll have better luck with X when it comes out. Have you ever experienced this glitch or know of any work arounds?

There was a bug in 7.0 that caused this in duplicated timelines – it was solved in 7.0.1 as far as I know, so ensure you have the latest version via software update.

Otherwise, if it happens a lot you have a bad install, or your FCP preferences are corrupted, or both. Use FCP rescue or FCP maintenance pack, and reinstall the whole suite from scratch if possible – this is one reason why an edit system should not have a lot of other software on it.

I can assure you this is NOT typical behavior for FCP suites.
