Hi, I’m totally new to Media100 editing, generally working in Edius & Prem pro on PC. I’ve now discovered it after being asked to advise on editing by a newbie colleague on his Mac. In the past I have used both FCP (legacy and X) which is probably why he asked me, but wasn’t very impressed by either (especially X)

Having discovered Media100 now, I’ve been very impressed both by it and the excellent support I’ve had so far getting it working on my recent MBP. And for $99 including Boris – which I know and use on the PC, it seemed a no-brainer.

So now, before advising my colleague, I’m trying to get up to speed a bit with it. I’m making progress but wondered if there is a way of rendering an ‘active’ region (say between the in & out points)? – can’t seem to see it in the manual.

Any advice would be very welcome.

    Yeah, you can do that.

In the “Media” menu, you have “Render…” or CMD-Shift-R. There a dialog will come up where you can select what to render.

Thanks for such a quick response Floh. I’m not in front of it at the moment and I think I saw the render dialogue that you refer to, but didn’t see an option to render in/out points. I’ll check again when back at base.
