  • Render HD footage to SD DVD in DVDA

Posted by Michael Moyers on October 5, 2013 at 4:53 am

Recently upgraded to v12. I’ve noticed that I crash when rendering HD footage to DVDA SD video. it will render just a little bit and then stop. The program is then stuck to where I have to reboot to recover.
Should I be converting my footage to something different before I render to DVDA?

    Thanks

Try reinstalling Vegas and see first…

Try turning off GPU acceleration for the timeline under Options | Preferences | Video | GPU Acceleration. Sometimes this helps.

I am not using the GPU acceleration as it does nothing for me even though I have a $400 plus GeoForce Video Card as well as 16GB of memory.(That is another thread altogether LOL)

I have updated to the latest build but I suppose that is not the same as a reinstall?

Let me know what you think.

Did you turn of the GPU in both places? Timeline playback as I suggested in my previous post and then there is also a GPU option in the render template. Make sure it’s off in both places.

If that doesn’t fix the problem it could be something with your media at the point that it’s failing.
