  Render custom AVI for FLV encode – Which Codec with Ver. 8 PRO?

  I know a lot of threads on this subject – has the dust settled?

  I want to render SD AVI with the following “criteria” So I match source dimensions for the the best VP6 FLV render settings.

  1. specific size e.g. 576X 432 (SD) ?
  2. ( 4:3 ) with Square Pixels (hopefully )..
  3. Progressive Scan

  So far choosing uncompressed AVI is way over the top for render times due to the huge file size.. ( if it’s not hanging up my flv encoder entirely.. it takes so long can’t tell)

  Which Codec provided with Vegas Pro 8 is the best choice to keep the quality up and the resulting file size somewhere in reason.

  Do I assume correctly the best FLV render will be from matched source ratios, etc?
