  • Render Bar/Work Area to re-adapt to the videos in the timeline?

    Hey, guys.

I had a major issue with the render bar/work area in the timeline:

When you start a new sequence, the render bar/work area automatically adapts to the media that you drop into the timeline. However, if you accidentally or manually change the in and out points for the render bar/work area, it won’t go back to automatically adapting to the length of the video.

Is there a way to make the render bar re-adapt AUTOMATICALLY to the entire work area again? I just had a major screwup with a new client where it was on manual and it cut off the end of the video. It slipped my mind as I was in a rush and had to send out the video to the client. I also usually don’t render media in my timeline. I just render that media when I’m done editing and rendering out the final media. Thanks!

    Todd,

No, but here’s the way I look at it. If you are a pilot, you have a check list to go through before you take off, and I know a lot of editors that make quite a bit more than pilots do 🙂

I do the same with editing, and the list is quite long these days…

if you reveal the entire timeline and double click on the work area it will resize to match the entire timeline.

In the Source Tab of the export settings you have the option to set the Source Range to Entire Sequence, Work Area or Custom.
And several other options to set the duration.
If you choose Entire Sequence is does not matter where the WAB is set to.
