Is there any benefit to closing fire wall and anti virus programs while doing a long render?
Do they in any interfere with the render process?

    thanks

A firewall should not. Anti-virus might depending on how agressive it is. It could start scanning the rendered file before it’s complete. So the possibility is there.

So John, any harm in turning modem off and closing firewall and anti virus while rendering?

also John, if I might, are the Cinescore downloads I see about safe for download?

    thanks for the help

    No harm at all.

I’m not sure where you are seeing them but if they are from the Sony site they are safe.
