Renaming .mts files in project panel.
If I were to rename the .mts files made by the Sony HVR-MRC1 in the project panel, will Premiere CS 5.5 still be able to track them?

Of course. And when saving a backup of the hole proyect with Proyect Manager don´t forget to select the “Change media names” option to preserve the new names given to files.
Anyway, just have a try with a test proyect with some mts files and check it yourself.Regards
