Removing Timestamp from DV footage
I’ve been through Sony’s forums and various topics online looking for an answer to this.
I have some DV footage that was sent in form Europe. It’s NTSC and shot on Sony MiniDV (60 min). I do not know which camera was used to shoot the footage. Anyway, after capturing, i noticed the Date and Time are in the captured .avi. I have been told that I need to set this to ‘off’ on my DSR-11, then capture. Well, the DATA CODE option on the DSR is set to “off” for camera. On just makes an extra timestamp. I don’t know for sure if the tape I have is a dub, but I had the thought that if it were a dub, perhaps whoever converted it, did so by use of analog out instead of firewire, therefore burning the stamp into the dubbed tape. I really don’t know. Is there a way for me to tell if the timestamp is burnt into the footage withing Vegas(6)?
Thanks in advance
