  • Removing opacity from object

I traced an image (birds) from a picture. Copied the object (the anchorpoints/path) to new .ai file.

Now I have a layer with a silhouette that I want to fill with a color.

However when I fill it with e.g. black, it looks grey, as if it still has opacity applied, but I dont see how or why. Only a little gap within the silhoutte is black.

Hope I explained it well. I am new to Illustrator.

    I solved it 🙂

Had to ungroup objects and then in layer panel could change opacity.

Hi Ilona. Can you try selecting the object then go to Object and select “Expand” so the artwork becomes more editable. Then try to Ungroup and select the parts you want to turn to black. I am not an expert but hope this helps.
