  • removing ins & outs from entire project?

Posted by Ariatari on December 6, 2006 at 6:04 pm

is there a way to do this? I want to recompress my entire project and I was hoping to avoid having to go through it clip by clip to remove the ins and outs.

    thanks,

    Ari

Do you mean recompress all the source footage used in the cut…the full clip and not just what is used in the cut?

I want to recompress everybit of footage in the entire project. There are thousands of clips. I am also curious about doing this with cut sequences. But most importantly I want to do it with my source clips. The source clips (many of them at least) have in and outs set already. I want to remove the ins & outs in one fell swoop, and I need to do this before I recompress the entire project. If the ins and outs are there then media manager only recompresses the media between the ins and outs. I want ALL the media.

    thanks,

    Ari

This is easy. You don’t have to clear ins and out. What you need to do is select your browser and make sure that everything is deselected (click in an empty space in your browser). Choose the media manager, let it build it’s little database, then when it finally pops up, choose recompress and be sure to include master clips, uncheck delete unused media, check include affiliate clips. If you hover over the original and modified bars at the top, you can compare the total media time to make sure you are getting everything. Hit ok and choose some destinations. Away it goes.
