  • Removing headphones and sound doesnt automatically switch to internal speakers?

Posted by Alex Walker on April 12, 2019 at 2:06 pm

When working on Adobe Premiere, any time I remove the headphones from my machine the sound doesn’t automatically switch from “Headphones” to “internal speakers”.

How can I ensure that this automatically switches from the two accordingly and WITHOUT me having to manually switch the Sound Output in the settings every time i remove or place the headphones in the machine?

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

If you haven’t solved this issue, try these things. First, check System Preferences-Sound-Output. This will show you the system setting that is being used for sound output. Some apps can override the output so that it always uses a specific source. For Premiere Pro, go to Preferences-Audio Hardware and you can see what devices is selected. I believe you can set it as default audio device, which should choose the output based on the one listed in System Preferences. This Adobe support article provides more info:

Does it also happen when you connect any bluetooth headphone with your mac?. Please check it because if it does then there is nothing to be worried about, it is just a software problem.
