After reviewing my raw footage I have noticed that the camera’s shadow is seen just at the bottom right of the frame off a parked car’s back window. Is there a way to remove that shadow using After Effects 6.0? This shot plays a very important role in the scene so the shot has to be used. Reshooting is not an option.

How long is the shot? Can you post a sample frame of it?

I recently had a similar situation where I needed to remove a shadow.
I was able to accomplish this with AE 6.5 Standard. (Motion tracking would have helped but that option is with Pro)

If you have access to the “Clone Stamp Tool,” it works much like it does in Photoshop. Create a comp, double click layer, and use the clone stamp to “paint” the shadow away using pixels from the background that matches. Choosing the “constant” option allowed me to keep the shadow out for the entire SOT.

    Hope this helps!

I can’t post any frames of it but I can e-mail you the .avi file of it. The shot runs approx. 8-10 seconds.

Can this be accomplished with After Effects Ver. 6.0?
