  • Removing Blemish on Still Image in Final Cut?

Posted by Nico Toll on October 4, 2011 at 11:10 pm

I have uploaded a series of still images into Final Cut and it appears that my camera has a scratch or piece of dust on a part of the lens elements or sensor. (see attached picture. The blemish is above her elbow)

Is there a way to create a mask that I can paste throughout my images to remove the blemish? Certainly, it would be wonderful if this wasn’t an issue or had been discovered before capturing a bulk of images.

Since they are still images if you have photoshop you could set up an automated task to correct the issue and save as a new file (or the same file). Would save you from having to mask each file and probably cut down on some rendering too. Hope that helps.

Also, check the sensor in your camera for dust next time. It will show up when using small lens apertures.
