removing an unwanted item from a video clip
Hi,
What are the basic steps with removing a chair (an unwanted item) from a video clip?
It’s the best clip and it mistakenly had a chair in it that doesn’t belong. I could replace it with the brown wood of a bureau/dresser that stands behind it. Is this something doable for a not very experienced user to do? (I’ve made an animated title with AE).

Is the camera moving or locked down?

The video camera was on a tripod and I believe the unwanted item is not intersected by the moving character/actress. The unwanted item/the chair is on the edge. If I let the clip go on longer then the frame would change or the camera would move.

In case the footage has a little camera shake in it (don’t they always?), this tut will show you how to track the footage so you can have your replacement piece to match the video movement.

You can make the replacement in photoshop, either cloning out the chair with dresser wood, or replace it with something all together.
