Well, this seems to contradict page 118 of the CT manual which says: for “Both fields, with field 1 dominance” use “F1 – F2”

But those aren’t actually different combinations, just a different style of notation. They are the same 2:3 cadence:
AA BB _BC_ _CD_ DD
is the same as
A1A2 B1B2 B3C1 C2D1 D2D3That is,
two fields from the A frame,
three fields from the B frame,
two fields from the C frame,
three fields from the D frameThat’s 2:3, so I don’t trust that CT isn’t going to attempt to pull 2:3 out of 2:3:3:2.
Depending on how CT goes about that, at best it’s going to result in recompressing the C frame, which defeats my desire to use advanced pulldown to begin with. At worse, it may reverse the upper and lower fields of the C frame.
I’M STILL WAITING for someone to address the ORIGINAL QUESTION that I asked: namely, that none the frame options in this “Remove 2:3 pulldown” dialog make sense for 2:3:3:2.
Gary, you’ve mentioned an “Auto” button in CT. Would you mind detailing where in CT or the CT manual this can be found. I’m still trying to figure out why CT (ver 2.2) isn’t providing the “Automated Remove Advanced 2:3:3:2 Pullsown” dialog for this 24pA footage as shown on page 197 of the manual.
