Removing 2:3 Pulldown
I am currently having issues removing a 2:3 pulldown from footage shot with the Sony F3 and Ki-Pro. The files given to me by my DP are all 920 x 1080 and 29.97 fps.
I have researched several methods in reverse-telecine’ing these files, such as this one https://blog.abelcine.com/2011/08/19/simple-workflow-for-removing-23-pull-down/,
but nothing seems to work…Please note, I am not a DP or an editor – just a guy with some footage and a deadline. PLEASE HELP!

Was it shot 24p, just at 29.97?
Cinema Tools will remove pulldown. There are 4 options in doing this, you might have to test them all out.

We shot 29.97i I believe.
I was playing with Cinema Tools earlier… was trying to figure out the right settings. I’ll keep messing with it

If you shot 29.97i…and not 24p…then there is no pulldown to remove. You need to use Compressor to convert to 23.98. Set the FRAME CONTROLS in the INSPECTOR to BEST in all catagories and then wait a long time as it does the conversion.
