I am using Remove Grain to clean someones face but I’m having an issue when I render. While im rotoscoping the persons face with a mask everything looks fine, the face is nice and smooth on every frame, but when I render the effects seems to pop in and out and when its off it even seems to make the face worse. Does anyone know what might be going on? thanks.

have you check to see where the samples are coming from?

change the preview mode to samples and see if its sampling from an area where there is something causing the jumps

Yes, Ive checked that. It samples from just one frame right? or does it actually sample from a variety of frames? Its a Keyed out person so the only place I have to sample from is his shirt. He moves quite a bit. But I thought the noise sampling was just done from one frame.

im pretty sure it samples each frame, and thats where your problem lies.

set the viewing mode to samples and scrub through your clip. i bet you’ll see the cause fo the the frames that are popping

the thing is, it doesn’t pop when its doing a ram preview or when I’m just moving frame by frame in the comp, but once I render it pops in and out terribly.

and I just checked, and if you put it in the sampling section it asks for Source Frame and it doesn’t move from there
