I tried to apply this effect (Effect > Noise & Grain > Remove Grain) in several footages and it worked in some, however it failed to work in many of the fooategs. Im wondering why it would work in some footages and wouldnt work in others. These clips have the same properties, they are all in DV format, was shot using the same camera settings. Are there any special settings for this plugin/effect to work?

Try viewing noise samples, then changing the frame at which the noise is sampled. By default it samples the first frame of the layer, which may not resemble the bulk of your footage.

If the layer consists of many different clips strung together, you may need to split up the layer into separate clips and apply remove grain to each new layer, choosing a different frame to sample the noise each time.
