When you right click on video file in Project Media window and select Remove from Project and Delete File(s), what does Sony Vegas 12 do with the deleted file?

I cannot find it in the Recycle Bin and I’ve searched my hard drive for the file name with and without the file extension. The file is only about 100MB or so.

I tried a deep scan with Recuva to find it in my Recycle Bin, but it’s not there. How does Sony delete file on behalf of Windows and where I should look for it?

System Info: Windows 10, Sony Vegas 12.

It probably calls the OS delete API which deletes the file without using the recycle bin so the file gone just as you requested.

If you use Recuva, you should look in the folder that the original file was in, not the recycle bin.
