  • Remove Flourescent Light Flicker?

Posted by Max Frank on July 12, 2010 at 12:13 pm

    Hi there,

I’ve got some nasty flourescent light flicker on some HDV footate I was given – can it be removed or mitigated?

I guess I already know the simple answer to that question, but in the event that there is some wonder-plug-in that I’ve never heard of that can reduce the flicker, I’d be happy to hear any suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

If the shot is static, you could always freeze the image and wipe/mask the top out, that might help.

    Hi,

    Thanks – it’s a moving shot, so I guess I’m out of luck 😉

I guess Im answering this way to late for you Wayne but just in case anyone else is reading this, Adobe Premiere pro cs3 handles this fairly well, right click on the clip in your timeline go to field options, check the flicker removal box. Not had to do this on FCP or Avid but there must be a way….

    Hi Ian,

    Thanks for the info.

Very interesting – I’ll see if I can test it on PP.

    Thanks again,

    Wayne
