Remove Camera Shake?
Posted by Ronnie Smith on June 5, 2007 at 8:51 pmI know Adobe premiere has a plug in to remove camera shake, but does Vegas Video have one that I can buy? I’m using Vegas 6.0.

June 5, 2007 at 9:20 pmHere’s a link to a Deshaker Vegas Script thread on the Sony Vegas forum.
The link to the package is in the the first post.
Grab it quick though as the author put it on YouSendIt and it won’t be there much longer. -

June 6, 2007 at 4:23 pmIf the shake is only for a short period, it’s pretty easy to use pan/crop and keyframing to manually counter the shake.
The basic idea is to start with the first frame of the clip. Look for a couple of visual “markers”… small objects near the edges of the frame.
Forward a few frames. Grab the video window and reposition it in the pan/crop window so that your markers are returned to the positions they had in the first frame. Set a keyframe.
Continue in this fashion until you’ve worked your way through the entire clip. How long you can go between keyframes depends on the severity and frequency of the shaking.

June 12, 2007 at 7:20 pmPaul, if you Google John Meyer Deshaker, you’ll find a few sites that have a tutorial (and links to the required software) for the original version.
If I remember correctly, the one I linked to was for specifically for Vegas 7.
